Chef picked for Winterfest White Party

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A master chef has been selected for 7News' biggest Winterfest tradition.

Culinary students at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale showed off their cooking skills Friday for a chance to have their dishes served at the Winterfest White Party.

7News' Belkys Nerey was the judge at the event. "We've worked with the Culinary and Art Institute for years," said Winterfest Organizer Dawn Read, "and it just keeps them engaged, and it has a great resume for the students, and its become quite an interesting competition with celebrity judges."

The winners were picked in several categories including entrees, beverages and deserts.

The Winterfest White Party is Nov. 2.
