Family escapes house fire

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida family was forced out of their home after it was engulfed in flames.

The fire damaged a home along Southwest Fifth Street and Seventh Avenue, Monday.

Thick smoke accumulated in the home, leaving parts of the house stained with soot.

The residents managed to escape the fire. However, one person was treated on the scene.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
