MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are looking for a pair of men who attacked a woman before taking off with her purse, Wednesday morning.

Miami Police said 30-year-old Darlene Valle was waiting for her ride to work in the area of 2289 NW 33 Street, when the subjects approached her and beat her for her purse.

Valle spoke about the incident through translation. She said, "They took my purse and all my things that were inside. They took my ID, my credit card, my clothes for work. They hit me with the gun."

"These two individuals took advantage of a lady that was standing out here in front of her house, waiting for some friends to pick her up," said Miami Police Detective Willie Moreno.

Moreno described the horrific attack in front of her own home. "As these two black males approached, one of them started demanding her purse, there was a small struggle, she holds on to the purse. This individual, the first one, 35 years of age, approximately, starts punching and kicking the victim, the victim still not letting go of the purse. He finally produces a firearm, at that point she does let go of her purse."

The people who were going to pick up Valle for work saw the end of the attack and followed the subjects through the Miami neighborhood until they pulled out a gun and fired shots.

Valle is expected to be OK.

Police continue to investigate.

The victim described the crooks' getaway vehicle as a blue Chevrolet sport utility vehicle. One subject is described as a dark skin, black male, in his mid 30s, standing 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, with long dreads. He was also clean-shaven at the time and was wearing a black shirt and black shorts. This is the man police believe fired the gun.

The second subject is described as a dark skin, black male, in his 20s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with short hair. He was wearing all dark clothing at the time of the robbery.
