NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- A TV chef joined Miami-Dade County schools to encourage students to eat breakfast.

Celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, from Iron Chef America, and other chefs, served students breakfast at North Miami Senior High School Wednesday morning. It's all part of the program called Jump Start School Breakfast, a free program available to all Miami-Dade County public school students.

Michelle Bernstein said, "Now that there's this push to eat breakfast, I think it's fabulous, and we should all take part in that whether we're still kids or adults. You know, it gets the body going and the body needs that."

The celebrity chef partners are working with the school district to create new healthy breakfast items in an effort to bring more students into the cafeteria.
