Crooks use sledgehammers to rob jewelry store

BOCA RATON, Fla. (WSVN) -- Boca Raton Police are searching for a group of thieves who pulled off a brazen smash and grab at South Florida mall.

The robbery happened just after 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall. According to police, three to five masked men walked in with sledgehammers and smashed several jewelry cases inside Saks Fifth Avenue.

Police said the crooks took off with numerous items and fled in a waiting black BMW.
