Man accused of molesting neighborhood kids

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man is behind bars after he allegedly took advantage of children living in his neighborhood.

Authorities have charged Christopher Michael Mora with lewd and lascivious molestation on two children after, police said, he took advantage of two young children living near his home, at a community pool. He was denied bond.

Police said, the 27-year-old befriended two kids in his neighborhood in Southwest Miami-Dade, and then molested them.

His neighbors said they have noticed Mora getting to chummy with children in the West Kendall neighborhood. "He's done it before," said a woman who did not want to show her face on camera. "It's what it is, and he just befriends people to get close to your kids, and that's what happens."

Mora, who has a history of preying on children according to police, was already on probation.

He will await his trial behind bars. If convicted, Mora will have to register as a sex offender. Meanwhile, police are asking parents who think their children may have been in contact with Mora to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
