Family displaced after apartment fire

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A South Florida family has been forced out of their home after their home caught fire.

Rescue crews responded to a apartment complex at 971 Southwest 7th Street Saturday morning.

According to investigators, two children were playing with a lighter underneath a bed when the fire started. "The fire moved rather quickly, as fire fighters were responding, we took two minutes to arrive here, and you could see the flames and smoke from several blocks away," said Miami Fire Rescue Ignatius Carroll

Fire starter classes are being offered to the children to prevent further incidents.

The home is a complete loss.
