MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a crook accused of stealing a van, filled with music equipment, from a South Florida musician at a gas station.

The theft happened at the BP along Southwest 23rd Avenue and Coral Way. Evan Lamb said he left his van running while he bought coolant, when someone hopped in his van and took off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

"This is terrible. This is my whole livelihood. There's equipment that I've been saving for 20 years," said Lamb. "I'm a musician. That was all of my gear. I have one guitar at home. That's it."

The victim said he tried to grab the window as the thief took off in his van but it was too late.

If you have any information on this theft, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
