Teen held on $100,000 bond in missing case
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WSVN) --The search continues in Gainesville for a South Florida teenager who may have been beaten and left for dead.
The victim's high school and college classmate has been arrested and accused of "depriving a victim of a crime medical treatment."
The suspect in this case, 18-year-old Pedro Bravo is being held at the Alachua County Jail. This morning, Bravo faced a judge and was issued a bond of $100,000. If Bravo bonds of out jail, he cannot leave the state of Florida.
Gainesville Police said Bravo got into a fight with Christian Aguilar and left Aguilar unconscious in a wooded area. But, police also said, Bravo has continued to change his story.
In the meantime, Aguilar's family and friends have helped police with the search for Christian. Search teams have split up and are combing wooded areas all around Gainesville. They are using walking sticks and machetes in hopes that they will find Aguilar's cellular phone or a piece of his clothing, but so far, they have found nothing.
One of the people helping out in the search is Aguilar's girlfriend who formerly dated Pedro Bravo. It is said that the fight between Aguilar and Bravo revolved around her, but Aguilar's girlfriend, who preferred to remain anonymous, said those rumors are false and that the two teenagers were friends.
"It's like a never-ending nightmare," said Aguilar's girlfriend. "It's terrifying. Sleeping, eating, these things are like not even important right now. It's so stressful and so scary. We're just hoping and praying that he's all right. We need as much help as we can get."
Many of Aguilar's friends and family members from the Doral area have gone up to Gainesville to help in the search for Christian.
