SUV crashes into home; no injuries

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for the sport utility vehicle that crashed into an elderly couple's home and took off.
Pastor Andrew Day and his wife Dorthy have been married for 60 years and have lived in the same home for almost half a century.
Dorthy and the nurses were tending her husband when she heard a loud noise coming from outside of her home Tuesday morning. "Heard a big crash. It sounded like someone was breaking up glass," said Dorthy.
The driver of an SUV crashed into the front of the home and left the scene. Pastor Day was lying on his bed in his bedroom. "My father is 82 years old, he's lying in his room under hospice care," said son Kenneth Day.
The family says the home is paid off, but they have no insurance. "When I came and I saw, I was like 'Oh, my God, look at my front porch,'" said Dorthy.
The Days' sons are trying to patch up the affected area because it would cost them thousands of dollars to have a professional fix the damages. Dorthy said, "We are going to try to wait and see what we can do."
No one inside the home was hurt.
If you have any information on the SUV responsible in this crash, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
