DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities have released the 911 call made by a police officer who was shot while off duty working at his father's church.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Wislyn Joseph called 911 on Saturday after he took a bullet from a robber. He was volunteering at his father's church, Union Christian Baptist Church, located at 6701 NW 7th Ave. in Miami, when three men robbed and shot him.

Family members said the men took a ring and necklace given to Joseph by his grandmother when she was on her death bed.

Joseph called 911 on his cell phone and a fellow Miami-Dade officer transported him in his vehicle to JMH in stable condition.

Caller: "Off duty officer shot. I've been shot."

911 Operator: "OK, hun, stay with me on the line. Where is the person that shot you?"

Caller: "That is me ... um, they fled."

911 Operator: "He fled?"

Caller: "Yes."

Police arrested Dedrick Brown, Travares Santiago and 19-year-old Willie Barney, who police believe is the shooter. The three men are in custody being held on no bond and are awaiting trial.

The suspects are facing armed robbery and attempted murder charges.
