Memorial underway for deputy who died on duty
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Final respects for BSO Deputy Christopher Schaub are underway.
Family, friends, and colleagues paid their respects, attending the visitation Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Pompano Beach for the 22-year veteran of the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The funeral will take place Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Calvary Chapel, at 2401 W. Cypress Creek Rd., in Fort Lauderdale, at 11 a.m.
Schaub died Wednesday after he was injured in a head-on collision accident. The officer was hit by a vehicle while riding his police motorcycle at McNab Road and Andrews Avenue. He was airlifted to the hospital where he died. He was 47 years old.
