Miami Airport show debuts

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A new arrival to the Travel Channel will give you a new appreciation for Miami International Airport and its staff.
The hustle and bustle of traveling, and now, viewers have an all-access pass inside one of the busiest airports in the nation: MIA.
"We have to be constantly on our game because a lot of people will forget what happens but we live like this everyday."
What happens behind the scenes is documented on the new Travel Channel show, "Airport 24/7: Miami."
"I mean, you have to bring this on our carryon? Who forgets you have a gun in your baggage?"
From hidden weapons, to too much cash. "Today we are working a flight that brought in too much money. The rules here in the United States is that if you're bringing in $10,000 or more, you have to report it."
To drug sniffing dogs. "Right now we are drilling to see if there is anything inside ... We got white powder."
A day in the life of an airport official is no easy task. Their responsibilities are serious to keep MIA running around the clock. "They're out there to detect weapons, explosives, anything that can take a plane down."
But sometimes the job also has its storybook moments, like helping a couple with their fairy tale ending.
"Airport 24/7: Miami" premieres Tuesday at 9 and 9:30 p.m. on the Travel Channel, with two back-to-back episodes.
