Deputies search for man suspected of deadly shooting

TAMARAC, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities are searching for the man who allegedly shot and killed another man in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a murder at a South Florida condominium complex. Dispatchers received a call at 3:18 a.m. Thursday regarding shots fired at Sun Vista Gardens at 5060 Rock Island Rd. BSO deputies arrived on scene to find a man shot to death.
SWAT crews with K-9 were called out to the scene to search for the shooter.
Residents said the woke up and was surprised by the crime scene. "I was sleeping last night and when I woke up I saw it on the news," said one resident.
Another resident said, "The shots woke me up because I thought it was firecrackers."
With little information to go on, deputies searched every vehicle that entered and exited the gated community. "They searched my car trunk," a resident said.
Northbound Rock Island Road was shut down at Commercial Boulevard due to the homicide investigation. It has since reopened.
