Man shoots woman, then kills self

HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating a shooting after a man shot a woman then turned the gun on himself.

According to the Hialeah Police Department, a man entered a stripmall armed with a rifle in the area of West Fith Avenue and 29th Street, and went after a woman presumed to be his girlfriend or wife Wednesday afternoon.

The man then began shooting. Witnesses said the woman had her hands over her face and was hit in the upper arm area.

Police said the man drove a short distance away and shot and killed himself.

Police still do not know the relationship between the man and woman, but continue to investigate.

The woman shot is in stable condition.
