Miami police searching for missing child

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a child who disappeared from his mother's car outside an elementary school.

Thirteen-year-old Darius Madden was waiting in the car while his mother walked into Southside Elementary School along Southwest 13th Street and Fourth Avenue in Miami, just after 12 noon, Thursday.

When she came back, the teen was nowhere to be found.

He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with a Hialeah Middle School emblem and blue pants. He also wears glasses.

Through investigative leads, police believe the boy may be in danger and traveling to North Carolina.

If you have any information on this child's whereabouts call police.
