Coral Springs soldier killed overseas

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A local solider is being remembered after making the ultimate sacrifice overseas.

It happened in the Wardak Province of Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said two soldiers were shot and killed while on patrol on Saturday.

One of the servicemen, Warrant Officer Joseph Schiro, is from Coral Springs.

The 27-year-old was a member of a special forces battalion stationed out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
