Man surprises girlfriend with airport proposal

MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida man had an engaging audience inside a terminal at MIA, proposing in a big way.

When it comes to love, everyone has a special story. "I think I'm going to outdo her," said Digby Borrero. "We have an ongoing thing where we try to outdo one another."

For Borrero, it is a story in the works for three years. A story he took to the next chapter at Miami International Airport. "I want it to be said and done," said Borrero.

His longtime girlfriend, Natalie, flew in from Bolivia, and she would never expect a welcome home like this." She's there for business," said Borrero. "Her family's from Bolivia. She was there for family business."

Her boyfriend greeted her at the airport with flowers and a support group. Family and friends were all there at the gate. "I got my lovely sister and friend as well," said Borrero's sister, Anna Leadford. "He called me and said, 'I think I'm gonna throw up.' But he's OK."

Borrero's heart was beating a mile a minute. The crowd was pumped. His relationship and his partnership is about to take off in front of hundreds of people. "You're the best thing that ever happened to me. You brought me back into this world. You brought me back to life. Natalie, will you marry me?"

She did say yes. And, just like he said before, he definitely outdid her on this one. "Wow! Thank you," said Natalie Touzard. "You defiantly topped it off. A little hard to top off."

Borrero had been planning to pop the question for about a month now. Congratulations to the happy couple!
