Joe's Stone Crab celebrating 100 years in Miami

MIAMI (AP) -- It's almost stone crab season.

When Joe's Stone Crab opens on Thursday, the South Beach establishment will be celebrating 100 years in business.

The Miami Herald reports the famous eatery will be asking fans to share their fondest memories at www.joesmemories.com .

The restaurant opened two years before Miami Beach was incorporated. Several events are planned to recognize the 100th anniversary, beginning in January.

The restaurant doesn't take reservations. Guests can begin arriving at 4 p.m. Thursday for the first seating at 5 p.m.

Stone crab season runs from Oct. 15 to May 15.
