DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Ajax Building Corporation, based in the city of Midway in the panhandle of Florida is behind the parking garage that collapsed Wednesday morning, but they are not sure what could have caused the deadly collapse.

The head of the company, released a statement that stated, "While we do not yet know the cause of this tragic collapse, we are committed to working actively and cooperatively with our design and construction partners and local, state and federal authorities to determine the exact cause of this accident."

The company website, said the project was budgeted for $22.5 million.

Designs on the site show a first floor office space and five levels of parking above with nearly 1,900 parking spaces.

"This is the first project they have done for the college," said Miami-Dade College spokesperson, Juan Mendieta. "They do, from what I understand, have a solid safety record."

There is a rendering of what the finished product would look like on the construction company website. It includes an outside amphitheater for movie and theatrical performances.

A picture of the garage's February groundbreaking is also posted on the company website.
