SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Miami-Dade Police is putting stolen items on display, giving the rightful owners the chance to reclaim them, Friday.

Hundreds of recovered items, including jewelry, TVs and pricey electronics are on display at the Miami-Dade Police Kendall Station located at 7707 Southwest 117th Avenue. Authorities said these items were taken from several homes in South Florida.

Police have arrested two people but they believe several more people may be connected to these crimes.

Authorities are advising residents to protect their homes. "House alarms, any video surveillance cameras, you can get them pretty cheap in stores, you can put them throughout your house. That's definitely a great tool," said Miami-Dade Police Detective Josh Klurman.

Also, officials want residents to be aware of their surroundings. "You always want to be aware of vehicles that don't belong in your neighborhood, that you have never seen before, or a vehicle parked in front of a house out there for 10 minutes that you know is not your neighbor," said FDLE Special Agent Tracy Maurer.

For more information on these recovered items call the Miami-Dade Police Kendall Station at 305-279-6929.
