Thousands walk for a cause

MIAMI (WSVN) -- October is breast cancer awareness month and thousands of people across South Florida put on pink bras and walked for the cause.
On Saturday, 7's Christine Cruz and Diana Diaz were part of the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
Diaz led the largest pack of people ever to hit the pavement at Tropical Park in Southwest Miami-Dade. At Fort Lauderdale's Huizenga Park, Cruz was part of the starting line-up. Supporters and survivors painted both parks pink.
The events stressed the importance of early detection and self-exams.
This year, Making Strides raised more than $553,000.
