Car catches fire on turnpike

DAVIE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A car fire in the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike backed up traffic for miles during the Monday morning commute.

The truck erupted into flames near Sunlife Stadium. Fire Rescue Crews arrived on the scene and quickly put out the fire.

The southbound lanes of the Turnpike moved along with no delays.

The condition of the driver remains unknown at this time.
