Driver trapped in rollover accident

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (WSVN) -- Fire rescue crews are on scene of a rollover accident with injuries on the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike, closing off the exit to Coconut Creek Pkwy.

The accident has made it difficult for crews to extricate the driver of the Waste Services Incorporated truck.

The driver was traveling northbound on the Turnpike and got to the exit ramp near Coconut Creek when it flipped over. It is believed that speed may have been a factor.

After the truck rolled over, into the dirt, the driver became trapped.

A tow truck company that was in the area was able to secure the truck to stabilize it. Rescue crews continue to try to get the driver out.

A medical emergency helicopter is also on scene in case the driver needs to be flown to a hospital once he is freed from the wreck.

Road Rangers have the Coconut Creek Exit closed.
