Driver in rollover accident hospitalized

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (WSVN) -- Fire rescue crews have extricated the driver in the rollover accident on the Coconut Creek Pkwy exit on the Florida Turnpike.

The driver of the Waste Services Incorporated truck was traveling northbound on the Turnpike and got to the exit ramp near Coconut Creek when it flipped over. It is believed that speed may have been a factor.

A tow truck company that happened to be in the area was able to secure the truck to stabilize it as rescue crews arrived at the scene.

An emergency medical helicopter landed on the Turnpike and transported the man to a nearby hospital.

The Coconut Creek ramp remains closed as the cleanup and investigation continues.
