CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- The US Marine Corps Reserve have kicked off their Toys for Tots program.

The Marines held their annual toy drive Monday evening at Crave restaurant in Coral Gables.

For more than 65 years the Marines have collected toys for children in need. "I was here last year. We got a lot of donations. It really helped out a lot," said U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Eddy Fonseca. "I know the demands were greater, and this year it's also going to be greater. If there's more people out there that can help us, donate, That way, we can give to the needy kids out there, church groups, foster homes, children's hospitals, and that way every kid will have a Christmas."

The Marines collect new, unwrapped toys each year to give to less fortunate children in South Florida.
