Man shot, arrested after attempted robbery

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a man after he was shot during an attempt to rob a South Florida pawnshop.

The subject tried to rob a pawnshop along Northwest 130th Street and Seventh Avenue on Tuesday.

Surveillance video shows the store manager grabbing the gun from the man, but he fights back. "We were fighting with him as we fighting with him, he was loading the gun, he cocked the gun," said the manager's friend Randy

The fight for the gun continued out in the parking lot where surveillance video showed the store manager Joel, raise his gun and proceed to fire at the man.

Joel said, "I'm blessed to be alive. Sorry the kid got shot but It was my life for his life and he shouldn't have never came in and rob us."

After the suspect was shot, the man fled the scene. Police launched a massive search and found the man hiding in a shed in a near by home.

He was arrested and taken to the hospital.
