Cyclist struck, killed by driver

SUNRISE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A cyclist died shortly after being struck by a vehicle, early Wednesday morning.

The fatal accident happened at about 6 a.m., just south of Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 12th Avenue. Preliminary investigation reveals that the driver struck the victim from the back.

The cyclist died shortly after the accident.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed.
