Teen killed by car, police search for driver

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are working with a South Florida family in their search for justice after a child was struck and killed by a hit and run driver.
The accident happened Saturday night as a father and son were walking along the busy intersection near Old Dixie Highway and 264th Street. Investigators said the pair was using the crosswalk when a car plowed into them.
The 13-year-old boy took the brunt of the force and died on scene. The boy's father was clipped by the vehicle and watched as the driver fled the area.
Police passed out flyers Wednesday to drivers at the intersection in hopes of locating the driver.
The boy's father is grieving. "I miss my son, I need him back," wept Curtis Geddes. "I can't sleep at night, I'm barely eating, I'm only making it by the grace of God."
Police are now searching for the driver of a white Hyundai Elantra between the years 2001-2006. Detectives said the car has damage on the right side and is missing it's right side mirror.
If you have seen this car, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
