Lynn remembers quake victims in prep for debate

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -- Four students and two professors who died in the 2010 earthquake in Haiti are being remembered at Lynn University as the South Florida school prepares to host the final presidential debate.
The victims were on a mission trip in the Caribbean country when the earthquake struck. In their memory, the school built a memorial and established scholarships for students from Haiti.
The first of those students will be an usher at the debate Monday night in Boca Raton. Gwen Darguste tells WFOR-TV in Miami that the scholarship was "basically a light in a tunnel" for her.
Darguste's school collapsed in the earthquake, killing many of her professors and classmates.
Darguste says she's grateful to have a front row seat to history at next week's debate.
