4 injured in bad crash

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Four people are in serious condition after an early morning crash.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue used the jaws of life to remove the passengers from the car that wound up wrapped around a tree. The accident happened on Douglas Road and Sunrise Avenue in Coconut Grove, Thursday.

Residents in the area called 911 after hearing the crash and screams from the victims. "The neighbors next door called twice, I called again. It took a little while, but all we kept hearing was the guy screaming in there, 'Somebody help me, somebody get me out.'"

Fire Rescue officials said the two women and two men in the car were taken to Florida Kendall Trauma Center in serious condition.

Officials said they are still not sure how the car ended up crashing into the tree.
