Funeral, burial for Florida student is in Miami

MIAMI (AP) -- The funeral and burial for University of Florida student Christian Aguilar is being held in Miami.

The funeral mass is Tuesday at 1 p.m. St. Dominic's Catholic Church and is open to the public. The services were donated.

Aguilar's father, Carlos, said in a statement the family has found some peace in finding the body and "being able to give him a proper burial."

Aguilar's remains were found Oct. 12 in rural Levy County. An 18-year-old friend of Aguilar's, Pedro Bravo, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Two of Aguilar's aunts in Colombia have been granted nonimmigrant visas to travel to Florida for the funeral.
