Woman accused of purse snatching arrested

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida woman accused of snatching an elderly woman's purse last month has been arrested.

Police arrested Mary Mitchell on Monday. She is charged with grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. Detectives said Mitchell confessed to stealing from the elderly woman at a Publix Supermarket on Sunny Isles Beach on Sept. 29.

Surveillance cameras show Mitchell swiping the 71-year-old victim's purse from her shopping cart while her back was turned.

Mitchell has since bonded out of jail.
