FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A request for a new trial has been rejected in the case of a murdered South Florida college professor.
A judge denied the defense's motion Tuesday morning. It comes one day after jurors recommended the death penalty for 45-year-old Randy Tundidor. He was convicted of 10 charges including murder, attempted murder, arson and kidnapping.
Tundidor stabbed his landlord, Nova University professor Joseph Morrissey, to death in April 2010.
Tundidor also set the professor's home on fire and tortured his wife and son.
