MIAMI (WSVN) -- Three people, including a former Miami Beach city official, have been arrested in a bid-rigging scheme.

Gus Lopez and his wife Maria Alejandra Pineda were charged with racketeering, money laundering and a slew of other felonies combined.

Police said Lopez, the former Miami Beach Procurement Director, pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for leaking sensitive information to construction companies about competitors.

Pierre Landrin, who works for the Miami-Dade School System, was also charged. Detectives released undercover video, they say, shows Lopez accepting money from Landrin.

Prosecutors say the men shared kickbacks by leaking sensitive information to companies looking to unfairly land city contracts for construction work.

Investigators said at least 12 companies are linked to the scheme.
