Thief steals copper pipe from building

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A non-profit organization for girls has been targeted by thieves, again.
Crooks took off with a copper pipe from an air conditioning unit at Girl Power along Northwest 61st Street and Seventh Avenue in Miami on Tuesday.
The robbery cut plumbing and power to the building, forcing the group to cancel its afternoon school programs. "It's been very frustrating and very unfortunate, and just very heartbreaking to know that people out here commit these types of crime," said President of Girl Power Hema Campbell.
Campbell said crooks swiped copper wire from the building and also made off with one of the air conditioning units last week.
If you have any information on these thefts, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
