Good Samaritan shot by thieves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) -- An armed carjacking escalated to a shootout that put one man in the hospital.

A woman was being held up at gunpoint by three men when a Good Samaritan, who was also armed, tried to help her.

Gunshots were fired, and the Good Samaritan was shot.

He drove himself to the hospital.

The crooks took off with the victim's car and crashed near Northwest 187th Street and Second Avenue, where they then bailed out.
