Autographed books auctioned for lupus

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- A signature sale of some one-of-a-kind items took place for a good cause.
People paid a $2500 deposit for the chance to bid on Ken Kallis' collection of autographed books, cards and other memorabilia.
The bidding war took place along 752 East Prospect Road in Oakland Park Sunday and also included online buyers.
"It was for a purpose," said Kallis, "but at the same time, even if we didn't sell, there is positive publicity out there. We've already had feedback from many people about lupus. There's a lot of Twitter and blogs about the shame that a person has to pay that kind of cost for their healthcare and deductibles."
All proceeds should help with the medical bills of Kallis' daugther who suffers from a rare form of lupus.
