Police search for bikers after police crash

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Monday was a dangerous day on the job for a motorcycle officer injured in a crash after he tried to stop some speeding motorcyclists.
Hollywood Police officer Armando Silva remains in the hospital in critical condition, late in the afternoon.
According to Hollywood Police, Silva was on his motorcycle trying to stop two other cyclists who, police said, were speeding.
While Officer Silva attempted to pull the two motorists over, he lost control of his motorcycle and wiped out.
Detectives are not yet sure why he lost control. Luckily for Silva, he was right outside of Hollywood Memorial Hospital, so it did not take long for him to be transported to the emergency room.
Police are investigating the crash as well as visiting their friend at the hospital. "It's very tense right now," said Hollywood Police Lieutenant Nicole Coffin. "We're a brotherhood and a sisterhood, and we take this very seriously. I know you guys probably saw, there's motorcycle officers coming in from other agencies. Everybody is praying, everybody is staying positive, and everybody is coming together like we always do in a situation like this."
Police searched the security cameras in the area, and they actually saw the two motorists Officer Silva had tried to stop.
If you know the whereabouts of these two motorists, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
