NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Residents in a South Florida neighborhood are concerned after a crocodile showed up in a nearby lake.

The eight-foot crocodile has been roaming the neighborhood along 191 Street Northeast 23rd Avenue in Northwest Miami-Dade for about two weeks.

Residents said it lounges on a rock all day behind the lake, and they are concerned. "It's very dangerous because my daughters swim in the lake," said Natasha Albergina.

Rebital Rickman said, "We have a lot of children here. We have dogs. We can't get out of the house, especially in the evenings."

For now, authorities cannot touch the crocodile because he is in the water. Residents hope he leaves soon.
