New gambling cruise to set sail from Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A new gambling cruise is about to launch in Palm Beach.
Black Diamond says its 160-foot vessel is nearly done with a $5 million renovation. A final Coast Guard inspection is set for Thursday. Operators hope to have it running within days.
The new ship fills a void left by the departure of the Palm Beach Princess, which left the Port of Palm Beach in 2010 after 22 years of operation.
The Palm Beach Post reports the Black Diamond is a U.S.-flagged boat that will carry about 600 passengers.
It will offer slots, roulette, poker, blackjack and sports betting on 12 cruises a week. The cruises return to port the same day they depart.
