FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Crews reopened one southbound lane on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Thursday morning, after a persistent surge of sand and water covered it for days.
The street opened from Northeast 20th Street south to Sunrise Boulevard. Northbound lanes remain closed as crews continue to remove sand, which was carried into the street by Hurricane Sandy's tidal surge.
Those entering A1A in the flooded area will only be able to enter from the north.
