Teenager struck by vehicle in critical condition

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A teenager has been hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle.

Police said a teenage boy was struck by a burgundy vehicle on Sheridan Street, before Dixie Highway. The road in the area had to be closed as the teen was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver who allegedly struck the teen stayed on the scene and has been speaking to police. The road has since reopened.
