Toys For Tots taking donations now

MIAMI (WSVN) -- With the holidays come the joy of toys for thousands of South Florida children in need, and you can help make it all possible..

It's easy to get in on the giving spirit. You know you'll end up shopping at Toys "R" Us with the holiday season ahead, so why not buy something extra for a child who would otherwise go without?

Toys for Tots coordinator Marine Corps Sgt. Eddy Fonseca explained, "Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us are having their annual donation boxes where people come to donate toys to the bins or at the register, if they want to donate cash. That is fine. We're also accepting that, also."

Susan Miller of Toys "R" Us shared the benefit of giving. "When a child gets a toy, and they're not expecting it, the joy on their faces, that really melts your heart," she said.

Toys For Tots accepts new toys, unwrapped for ages newborn to 13 or 14. You can go to www.toysfortots.org to search for your nearest donation location.
