NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Shots rang out when a homeowner was roughed up and robbed while collecting his rent.

Officials said the victim was approached by two males in the area of Northwest 100th Street and 22nd Avenue.

The suspects pistol whipped and robbed the victim.

The homeowner took matters into his own hands. "As soon as I was able to move," said Luis Valdeon, "I went in my car and took my .357 and went after them, shot one, and he dropped his shoe, and now the whole police department is looking for the guy, but I'm pretty sure he's going to appear somewhere pretty soon with a little hole in his butt or something."

If you have any information on of the two suspects, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
