Police release video of school bus abuse

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- The Broward Sheriff's Office has released incriminating video that allegedly shows a school bus aid torturing an autistic boy who was unable to defend himself.
Forty-eight-year-old Darryl Blue, a Broward County school bus aid, was charged with aggravated child abuse on Thursday. The following day, police released surveillance video recorded by a camera on the bus.
According to detectives, Blue brutally choked a 13-year-old autistic boy, whose face was blurred on the video to protect his identity, on Oct. 9 while dropping off students who attend a Parkland school. "You're hurting me! You're hurting me! You're hurting me!" he cries between sobs.
His mother spoke to the media on Friday, holding a harness like that used to strap the child into his seat. "He was in a lot of pain," said Bertis Paulino. "I can tell you he was in a lot of pain."
Deputies said, when the boy made it home, his mother saw the bruises around his neck and called the Sheriff's Office. "He has like a dent here and bruises around his neck," said Paulino. "No one has the right to touch my kid or any kid," she said.
Asked whether if she ever heard her son in such pain, she said, "No ... We never exposed him to abuse like that ... No parent should go through this. I have given my son a very good life, and now his life is shattered."
The school district has since fired Blue.
