Man shot and killed; pedestrian hit just moments apart

MIAMI (WSVN) -- A woman lost control of her car and ran over a pedestrian. The chaos unfolded in the same scene where a man was shot dead inside of his home.
Screams of pain rang out from a man seconds after he was pushed through a fence, when a driver of a sport utility vehicle drove out of control.
The SUV was in the parking lot of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on North Miami Avenue. The accident happened just as service let out, stunning parishioners. "I said, 'Jesus! Lord Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, save him. Save him, save him ,Jesus! That's the only thing I could say."
The woman who was driving the SUV could not explain what occurred. "I don't know what happened," said the driver. The elderly woman who said her name was Louise said she does not believe she hit the wrong pedal.
All of this occurred along a murder scene. Miami Police responded to a home on Miami Court and 76th Street where a man was shot and killed when the SUV went bursting into the crime scene, sending officers scattering.
Neighbors said the man known as 'Bo' on the streets was disabled, and they have no idea who would want him killed. "They ain't no gang members," said a young neighbor. "There's only one little boy that be there, and that's that man's son, and they're not no gang bangers or none of that. They're nice people. They're nice people."
Police believe the murder was a home invasion, and while they look for a killer, they're trying to figure out what caused the woman's SUV to go out of control. "It's unfortunate what just happened," said Rose Pierre-Charles. "It saddens our hearts."
The woman driver was ticketed. The man who she injured was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Saturday night and is still recovering.
As for the person who was killed inside the home, police do not have a clue.
If you have any information on who may have killed the man, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
