FIU dorms flooded

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Several dorms at Florida International University's south campus are under water.

Officials said a water pipe broke in the ceiling on the sixth floor at the Lakeview student housing and flooded four dorms, Wednesday morning.

One resident described the scene. "I had just been asleep for about 20 minutes. I was woken by a very loud siren, and I walked out and it was like moses had released the water and there was just a flood everywhere. It was crazy," he said.

Students have been waiting to get back into their rooms all morning.

Crews are expected to be done repairing the damage sometime Wednesday.
