Sawgrass preparing for Black Friday

SUNRISE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A major South Florida mall is getting ready for Black Friday.

Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise has opened 20 new stores Thursday just in time for holiday shopping. "I love perfume, shoes, I mean things that you haven't even thought of you can get from this mall, so I do love shopping," said shopper Sherhon Seldon.

Next Thursday, Black Friday will start earlier then ever at Sawgrass. "They're offering such big discounts and value on Black Friday weekend, that they wanted that extra hour to get customers out, so we will be starting at 9 p.m." said Sawgrass VP Luanne Lenberg.

Brands such as Prada, Burberry and Valentino are said to be on sale. "Those great promotional deals. The buy one get one, the bounce back, the extra percentage off," said Lenberg.

Parents can also get an early start at toy shopping. Toys "R" Us in Doral will be opening its doors for 24 hours. "We are expecting excitement. We are expecting customers to be really happy and excited about coming in and shopping at that time," said employee Susan Miller.

Sawgrass has started a new program called Shop and Drop to help those shoppers with their bags. "We will be able to take customers packages and luggage and let them shop hands free and hold them for them," said Lenberg.
