DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A driver lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a South Florida store.

The incident occurred at the UPS store located at 1121 S. Military Trail in Deerfield Beach, late Friday afternoon.

A woman was trying to park her silver sedan in a parking spot with her elderly mother on the passenger side, when she somehow lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the UPS store. "I was behind the cash register that no longer exists," said UPS store manager Gerardo Davalia. "I was in direct line when the car was coming."

The three employees at the time of the crash were able to get out in time. "We had to figure out which way to go, because the store is pretty small, so I just got out the way as quick as I could," said Alicia Byrd.

The crash shattered the store's glass window and had mailing supplies and debris strewn about the store. Al Byrd said his daughter, Alicia, heard the car accelerating towards the store and was prompted to move. "She heard the acceleration coming towards the store and the car came right over and jumped the curb and went right through the store," he said.

No injuries were reported. Both women are OK.

The store has been boarded up but will re-open Saturday morning.
